I just noticed that Jekyll is playing on Showcase. If you haven’t seen this British series which got me so excited right about this time last summer, check it out. It’s everything a limited series should be… well almost.
The pilot is one of my favourites ever. Here’s the trailer:
One of my favourite […]
We’re finished with most of the fall launch and I for one am feeling a little let down. No slam-dunk must-see show has emerged.
But it’s not over yet. We might learn to love one of these series as the season goes on. The pilot was a solo writing effort. But now, […]

I finished watching Jekyll.
What can I say? The ending was a disappointment.
It starts so great. And it held me fast for four episodes.
But by episode five, I was asking “what?! what show is this?”

According to Rob Salem in today’s Toronto Star, Jekyll is premiering here in Canada on Showcase on August 29th. Set your PVR now!
Of the pilots I’ve read or watched so far in 2007, my five faves, each of which I’ve written about however briefly:
1. Jekyll
2. Skins
3. The Riches
4. Reaper (script)
5. Friday Night Lights
I am in the process of breaking Jekyll down. I’ll be writing about it next (I hope) so watch it soon if you […]
Will Dixon asks:Can you elaborate? Are they still teasers anymore or just Act One’s with a sexy beginning? And where is the title sequence falling in that opening chunk…pre first image? Or after 18 pages/minutes?
Can I elaborate? I was afraid to, lest you think my obsession with these details a little over the top, […]
