You may have thought Bert and Ernie were the only Sesame Street characters with edge… until now.  Turns out the Count has a few quirks too.

This video is a great example of how users aka the audience wants to use and spread professionally made content.  Maybe it’s not how you as a creator/producer want your material used, but if you want the audience to pass it along to others, you’re going to have to give them the right to mash it up, change it and spread it.

If the audience is the new distributor then the right to play with what you’ve made is going to part of the new distribution contract.

  1. And it’s already included in sections of Creative Commons licensing agreements…

Personally I want people to play with my pulp…

    That made me so uncomfortable.

My inner child just hid under the coffee table.

    Hot.

No…uh, wow. I remember watching that as a kid and just…loving it. And now. Well, now that’s ruined.

    I’m broken.

OMG, I’m so sorry to those who cringed or had their childhood memories shattered. I’ve always loved the Count… and despite the thing about the spiders, I still do.
